Ingredients

  • 400 g tofu
  • 2 tbsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 8 leaves butter lettuce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 stalks green onions
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 large red bell peppers
  • 100 g edamame
  • 0.5 cup cilantro
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce

Instructions

  1. 1Press tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut into small cubes.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and hoisin sauce to create the marinade.
  3. 3Marinate tofu cubes in the sauce for at least 10 minutes.
  4. 4In a pan, lightly toast sesame seeds until golden brown. Set aside.
  5. 5Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, add the marinated tofu, and cook until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  6. 6In the same pan, sauté minced garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  7. 7Add diced carrot, sliced red bell pepper, and edamame to the pan. Stir-fry until just tender.
  8. 8Return the tofu to the pan, add half of the toasted sesame seeds, and toss to combine.
  9. 9Separate butter lettuce leaves, wash, and pat dry.
  10. 10Spoon the tofu mixture into each lettuce leaf. Garnish with sliced green onions, cilantro, and the remaining sesame seeds.
  11. 11Serve immediately, enjoying the crisp, fresh flavors and textures.
