Ingredients

  • 1 loaf wheat bread
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 cup basil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for toasting the baguette.
  2. 2Slice the whole-grain baguette into 1/2 inch thick pieces.
  3. 3Place baguette slices on a baking sheet and lightly brush each slice with a bit of extra virgin olive oil.
  4. 4Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are slightly crispy.
