Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups brown lentils
  • 0.5 cup Gluten-Free Bread Crumbs
  • 1 cup mushroom
  • 0.5 cup onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.25 cup parsley
  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pieces Gluten-Free Hamburger Bun

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse and cook the lentils until tender, then drain any excess water.
  2. 2Finely chop the mushrooms and onion. Mince the garlic.
  3. 3Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the mushrooms, onion, and garlic, cooking until soft.
  4. 4In a large bowl, mash the cooked lentils. Stir in the sautéed mushrooms, onions, and garlic.
  5. 5Add the whole wheat breadcrumbs, ground flaxseed, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the lentil mixture. Mix until well combined.
  6. 6Form the mixture into four burger patties.
  7. 7Heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through.
  8. 8Toast the gluten-free buns lightly.
  9. 9Serve the lentil burgers on the toasted buns. Optional: add toppings like lettuce, tomato, or avocado for extra flavor and nutrition.
