Ingredients

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. 1Dissolve active dry yeast in warm water. Let it sit until frothy, about 10 minutes.
  2. 2In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. 3Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  4. 4Place the dough in a greased bowl, covering it with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. 5Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten into a disc.
